Saint Louis Priory School welcomes requests for financial aid from parents of applicants. Though the cost of a Priory education is quite reasonable compared to other area independent schools with comparable academic programs, we recognize there are many families who could not afford to send their sons to Priory without some form of tuition assistance. For the 2010/2011 school year, nearly $1.2 million of tuition assistance is being distributed to our student body.Whenever possible, the School tries to meet the demonstrated need of admitted students applying for aid, however, we often have more requests than money available. In order to ensure as fair an apportionment of funds as possible, the School requires that all financial aid recipients annually complete a FACTS Grant & Aid Application and submit their IRS 1040 form with all schedules and W-2s. Students applying for aid, whose parents are separated or divorced, must submit FACTS Grant & Aid Applications, IRS 1040 forms and schedules, and W-2s from both parents. Admission decisions are made without regard to requests for financial aid. Aid is in the form of a grant which does not require repayment. Because of the academic expectations of the School and the amount of work required by a student, we do not have a work study program. Boys of the Catholic faith normally receive preference in financial aid allotments. Though grants are occasionally awarded for the entire tuition, most grants are awarded for a portion of the tuition cost. Fees for lunch, textbooks, and athletic equipment are the responsibility of the student and his parents.
