Please note: We are launching a new website in September, and not all information that is typically updated over the summer will be up-to-date until the new site goes live. We will try to make sure essential beginning-of-the-year information is posted, but please bear with us. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Priory Fund is a vital resource that supports students and faculty each academic year. Gifts to the Priory Fund ensure a rich student experience with challenging academic programs, outstanding faculty, competitive athletics, and excellent fine arts.
In addition, Priory remains committed to offering a fine education to every academically qualified young man regardless of his family’s financial circumstances. Over one-fourth of the student body receives financial assistance amounting to over $1.4 million for the 2012-13 academic year.
Unfortunately, tuition alone does not cover the cost of a Priory education. This year we are incurring a shortfall of $3,200 per student. To cover that difference, we rely upon proceeds from the Xanadu Auction, withdrawals from the Endowment Fund, and annual contributions to the Priory Fund.
Your contribution is necessary to fulfill this year’s needs. Every gift makes a difference in the lives of our students and the success of the School; every gift narrows the gap between tuition funds and costs to maintain our programs.
Please prayerfully consider making a gift to the Priory Fund. Our goal is $575,000. It is your continued support that makes Priory successful and enables us to continue providing a solid Benedictine, Catholic preparatory education of the highest excellence to talented and motivated young men.
The Headmaster’s Club recognizes donors who make a contribution of $2,500 or more to the Priory Fund. These leadership gifts are essential to achieving our Annual Fund goal of $575,000. The donors in this group represent 62 percent of all dollars raised for the Priory Fund. With a tuition gap of $3,200 per student, membership at the $2,500 level is critical to the School's financial wellbeing.
Levels of Giving
In 2007, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the founding of Saint Louis Priory School and the Keeping the Promise Endowment Campaign, a group of alumni were invited to join The Saint Louis Priory School Alumni Golden Jubilee Club ( ever after known, pursuant to Father Timothy’s inspirational renaming, as The Prioristai). The response of that group was formidable indeed and contributed significantly to the success of that endowment campaign.
Alumni can join with the existing Prioristai members in committing themselves to the long-term support of the Abbey and the School. Rather than the one-time significant contribution to the endowment, required in 2007, now alumni have the opportunity to make a significantly smaller, but annual, commitment of a minimum contribution of $2,500 to the Priory Fund, as long as he is able. Through this ongoing pledge of support to the Priory Fund, an alumnus can join the existing Prioristai in providing the stable, enduring financial support required to allow the School to continue its commitment both to educational excellence and to the formation of good men.
