Follow this admission checklist to keep you on track.Complete The Admission Application Saint Louis Priory School currently accepts two different types of Admission applications and you are free to choose the application that best fits your circumstances and interest.
Schedule A Half-Day Visit And An Interview Contact the Admission Office to establish a convenient time for your son to visit the campus. He will attend morning classes and lunch, then you and your son will spend about one hour in a casual, relaxed interview with either the Director of Admission or a member of the Admission Committee. If time permits and if you are interested, we can also incorporate a personalized campus tour with your visit. Request A Copy Of Your Son’s Academic Transcript From His Current School A Transcript Release Form is included in both the Priory Application and the SSAT Application Service. If you prefer, a copy is available from the Admission Office. Please request from your son’s current school that they send the transcript to Saint Louis Priory School by Friday, January 21, 2011. We recommend that you check with your son’s school within two weeks of your request to verify that they have fulfilled your request. Ask One Of Your Son’s Current Teachers To Complete A Recommendation Form We would like the opportunity to hear from one of your son’s current teachers about his academic progress and potential. A Teacher Recommendation Form is included in both the Priory Application and the SSAT Application Service. (Please Note: The SSAT Application requires three recommendations, while the Priory Application requires just one.) If you prefer, a copy is available from the Admission Office or may be downloaded from the Admission section of this web site. Records must be received by Friday, January 21, 2011. (It is helpful to provide your teachers with a stamped envelope addressed to the Priory Admission Office to facilitate its return.) Register Your Son For The Secondary School Admission Test All candidates are required to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) in the winter of the candidate's application year. You may register on-line at www.ssat.org or by fax/mail. The SSAT will be offered at Priory on Saturday, December 4, 2010 and Saturday, January 22, 2011. (A list of alternative dates and locations is available from the Admission Office.) Students must register at least three weeks in advance. Is There Anything Else You Would Like Us To Know About Your Son? The application process allows for a student to showcase his abilities and interests in a variety of ways. Still, there may be information about your son or perhaps a perspective on his character which you would like to share with us. Please feel free to include any supplemental information that you think may enable us to know your son better, including additional letters of recommendation from those who know him best (coaches, scout masters, church leaders, etc.). While these additional elements are certainly not required, we are happy to include them in your son’s file, as the better we know him the more informed an admission decision we can make. STATEMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY It is the policy of Saint Louis Priory School that all information received regarding student’s application for admission will be treated with complete confidentiality. Only authorized school personnel have access to such information and then only to the extent that the information is relevant to admission and placement decisions. Information received within the scope of this policy is not disclosed to the applicant or the applicant’s family. NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY Saint Louis Priory School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in admission of students or in the administration of its educational or athletic programs.
