Lutheran South Invitational (9/3/1)
What a day for a race!  Ideal running conditions with a cool breeze!  It could only have been better if the Park Service had decided to cut the grass ahead of time.  Read more...
Fleet Feet Kick Off for CC at Quail Ridge Park (8/31/10)
Priory opened its 2010 CC season with a new race at Quail Creek Park in Wentzville.  This very flat 2 mile course gained popularity in only its second year with 15 teams of all sizes entered.  Priory was paired with large schools like Francis Howell and Marquette on a hot (92) and very steamy afternoon.  The early race gave many of our new athletes a chance to see the results of their hard preseason practices, while it provided the varsity the opportunity both to sort out the top runners and to see about their speed.

Monday Morning Highlights 8-30-10
Dear Parents,

Welcome to the official beginning of the school year!  I hope that you and your sons had an enjoyable and restful summer, and they have come back to school, as they say, tanned and rested.

I’m not tanned, but I am rested and ready to be challenged by the energy and precocious minds of our students. For me, beginning school is exhilarating. I do realize, however, that most students are not as enthusiastic as I am about this.  There will surprises, successes and disappointments this year. I pray the surprises will all be positive, the successes still give us something to strive for, and the disappointments be mild and motivating.

I thank you for entrusting to us your sons, for being part of the Priory Family and allowing Priory to be part of your family.  I thank you personally for giving something so worthwhile to do with my life.

That God may be all in all,

Sincerely,

Rev. Michael G. Brunner O.S.B.
Headmaster

Letter from the Headmaster

According to Dr. Samuel Johnson, the eminent English dictionarist of the 18th century, a faculty is “powers of the mind,” “a knack; habitual excellence; dexterity;” and also “quality, disposition or habit of good…” Only lastly does he define it as the “masters and professors of the several sciences” in a school.

I think that is because a good faculty of the last sort embodies all the previous definitions. The faculty of Priory certainly does embody mental power, habitual excellence, quality, the habit and disposition of good. But our faculty is more than that.
